LG Revolution Is the Verizon 4G LTE Outsider

Friday January 21, 2011

With the new Optimus One currently being a big hit, one can only wonder what LG will be able to carry out with the forthcoming LG Revolution for the new Verizon 4G LTE network.

The front-facing camera found in the upper right corner of the phone is of the 1.3-megapixel kind, which will be fully integrated in the Revolution's user skill courtesy of Skype mobile phone-to-phone video calling. It turns Skype into a full-fledged video calling client.

When it comes to watching content via 4G LTE streaming, the LG Revolution boasts a 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen. Actually, the phone is also DivX capable, in case you want to load up the 16GB internal memory with your own content selection. A microSD memory slot supporting 32GB cards has been incorporated if you need additional storage capacity.

It has received a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and 720p HD video recording. LG has given the Android 2.2 camera app an overhaul, and added a range of camera features including resolution adjustment; macro mode; image editor with zoom, rotate, resize, crop, added frames and stamps; brightness and white balance settings; shutter sounds, color effects; and self-timer.

The LG Revolution sports a second-generation 1GHz Snapdragon chipset, the same chipset to be found in the HTC Thunderbolt. Additionally, the Revolution gets Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity as well as a full range of Google Mobile services. Verizon promises 4G LTE speeds of up to 12Mbps downlink and up to 5Mbps uplink.

There's no exact release date for the LG Revolution up till now, but Verizon Wireless has promised that it'll be released by mid-2011.
